Seatbacks- along with the airbag and seatbelts- are part of an automobile's occupant restraint system.  When seatbacks fail, people can be severely injured.

Peter and co-counsel Paul W. Whelan helped Jesse Magana get an $8,000,000 verdict in Clark County, Washington.  Jesse was paralyzed when the seat on a 1996 Hyundai Accent collapsed backward, allowing Jesse to be ejected from the vehicle even though he was wearing his seatbelt.  The case is currently on appeal.
