Peter O'Neil has successfully litigated dozens of tough cases against auto companies such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, DaimlerChrysler and others. Peter has represented people hurt by badly designed seatbelts and airbags. He has handled more than a dozen cases of post collision fuel fed fires in pickups, big trucks and other vehicles. He has handled cases involving defective tires, defective (park-to-reverse) transmissions and general lack of crashworthiness. He got an $8 million verdict against Hyundai Motors Company and Hyundai Motor America for a flimsy seatback that collapsed and injured his client Jesse Magana-- then turned around and got a default judgment when the company failed to disclose other incidents of seatback failure.
Peter has worked on many cases involving General Motors Corporation’s C/K pickup whose two gas tanks are located in a dangerous position "side-saddle" location outside the frame rails. Peter was instrumental in uncovering and deciphering documents in those cases, and probably knows the story of the trucks better than anyone-- including GM.
Peter’s special expertise is discovery. Again and again he has forced manufacturers of hazardous products to cough up documents and testimony that might otherwise lie hidden forever. When one company tried to hide documents of similar incidents, Peter helped convince the trial court to grant a default judgment of more than $10 million against that company.
Peter is a former partner at one of the Northwest's finest law firms but currently restricts his practice to a few good cases. The idea is to have time to dig deep on each case and get the best possible result for his client.
